As you dust your window blinds you usually have to dust them from one side, the main side, and then underneath the blinds. Or you can take them down to dust, which can be a lot of trouble. But what if you could dust both sides at the same time? Well, you can. The first thing you want to do to get started is to open your blinds. Open blinds will give you access to both sides. Next, you’ll need the basic tools for dusting success. You have several options to work with. Choose the one that will work best for you. However, if you do not like this cleaning process and are looking for a better alternative to this problem then Full Height Window Shutters is a perfect solution for you. However, you can read further for some tips to clean your blinds quickly.
Your choices are hot pads, oven mitts, mittens, and gloves. Any of these choices will help you to dust both sides of the blinds at the same time. Because you can’t fit a hand into a hot pad it may be less convenient but you may find it just dandy. If you use a hot pad it should be a hot pad that you can fold in two and preferably cotton or one that won’t scratch.
Fold the hot pad in two and slide it over each blind to dust off the dirt and that’s all there is to it. With an oven mitt, mittens or gloves you can just slip your hand into them and run them over each blind. You won’t have to worry about holding onto them like you would with a hot pad. But hot pads may be more accessible year-round as well an oven mitt. Mittens and gloves may be stored in warm seasons and brought back out when it gets cold.
There is a difference between oven mitts, mittens and gloves even though they will all slip onto the hands. Oven mitts may be a bit larger than mittens or gloves so it can make them harder to use when dusting individual blinds. Mittens and gloves are more adapted to the sizes of individual hands so when they are used in dusting they will give you better control over movement and they’ll be less apt to knock the blinds out of alignment like when you have one blind further over than the blinds above and below. You just have to push or slide the blinds back into place, which takes a second but it can be kind of aggravating if there are a lot of them sticking out. Since gloves have fingers you can get into the grooves of the blinds and catch dust spots that you may have missed with the touch of a finger. Gloves are my favorite choice. And to top it all off when hot pads, oven mitts, mittens or gloves get dirty from dusting you can wash them.
